Safety Tracker is a DIGI CLIP module for managing incidents, hazards, and quality non-conformances — covering mobile reporting, root cause investigation, and action close-out in one platform.
Safety Tracker: Incident, Hazard & Quality Management Software
Move beyond simple checklists. Safety Tracker is an integrated module that can help manage the lifecycle of safety incidents, hazards, and quality non-conformances — from initial mobile report to root cause investigation and final close-out.
The DIGI CLIP Safety Tracker helps businesses capture hazards, investigate incidents, and manage quality issues on one platform. It integrates with our inspection checklists and Action Log to support a joined-up view of operational performance.
Why Add Safety Tracker?
- Capture Anywhere: Staff can report near-misses, hazards, or quality defects via mobile (iOS/Android).
- Automate Alerts: Managers can receive email notifications when a safety or quality event is logged.
- Investigation Templates: Use an incident investigation template that supports Root Cause Analysis (RCA) — such as the 5 Whys methodology — to help drive consistent, defensible incident investigations.
- Hazard Assessments: Conduct risk assessments using integrated risk matrices.
- Compliance Support: Maintain a digital audit trail of reports, investigations, and outcomes to help support compliance.
The 4-Step Management Workflow
Safety Tracker replaces email chains and paper forms with a structured process for safety, quality, and hazard reporting.
- Report: A worker identifies a hazard, quality defect, or incident and logs it on the mobile app, attaching photos and GPS location.
- Notify: The system can notify supervisors and relevant management teams via email.
- Investigate: A manager opens an Investigation Template to record witness statements, contributing factors, and root causes.
- Resolve: Corrective actions are assigned to staff via the Action Log. The incident is closed once all actions are verified.
One Module, Three Critical Functions
Most software only handles one aspect of compliance. Safety Tracker brings together three operational areas:
1. Incident & Hazard Management
Don't wait for a near miss to become a lost-time injury. Give workers a fast way to report hazards, and use risk assessments and investigations to help prevent reoccurrence.
2. Quality Non-Conformance (NCR)
Track product or service defects with the same rigor as safety incidents. Log non-conformances, investigate the root cause of the quality failure, and track rectification costs to help improve performance.
3. Lost Time Injury (LTI) Reporting
Visualise your safety performance. Monitor LTI incident rates and take proactive measures before issues escalate. Track LTIs to help demonstrate continuous improvement to regulators and stakeholders.
Safety Tracker vs. Spreadsheets
Managing high-risk incidents and quality failures on spreadsheets carries risk. Here's why purpose-built software is generally the safer choice.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Is Safety Tracker included in the standard subscription?
No. Safety Tracker is included with the DIGI CLIP compliant plan. View the Pricing page to see the full feature comparison across all plans.
Can I report quality issues as well as safety incidents?
Yes. Safety Tracker is an integrated management system. You can create separate workflows for "Safety Incidents" and "Quality Non-Conformances" (NCRs), allowing you to manage both streams in one platform.
How does the investigation process work?
Once a report is lodged, a manager can open an Investigation. This allows you to record witness statements, assess contributing factors, perform a risk assessment, and determine the root cause before assigning corrective actions.
Can investigations be linked to the Action Log?
Yes. Once an investigation is complete and corrective actions are identified, they can be created directly in the Action Log for tracking and close-out verification.
What types of hazard assessments can I perform?
Safety Tracker includes risk matrix tools and standardised assessment templates. You can evaluate hazards by likelihood and consequence, document control measures, and assign risk ratings for proactive management.
